Dr Daya trained and qualified in South Africa, where she worked for a few years in her own practice before emigrating to Australia with her young family. She has more than 30 years of experience in general practice in Australia. She also works as a surgical assistant, primarily at the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAN), where she assists many different surgeons and gynaecologists, which over the years have helped her gain valuable surgical experience and skills. With such a wealth of knowledge and experience behind her she established NSWH.

She is also part of the SAN Integrated Cancer Care Centre, where she is working as an Oncology Support Physician. In this role she works closely with many oncology specialists to provide ongoing general practice support to cancer patients whilst they are undergoing their treatments, with a particular focus on breast cancer patients.
